Until recently, the elements of the triple constraint -time, budget, and scopehad been considered as a valid basis for measuring the success of a project. Thus, the purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the success of applied research projects and their efficency. To achieve the above, we conducted a quantitative study, not experimental, cross-sectional and correlational in scope, by applying a questionnaire to project leaders in Research Centers. With the above, positive results were found as long as the total efficiency of the project is measured, since when measuring each of its dimensions, only the scope has a
satisfactory relationship. However, the success of a project could not be measured only in relation to the terms that define its efficiency, but also the satisfaction of its stakeholders must be measured. It follows that compliance with the elements of the
triple restriction plays an important role, but not definitive in the perception of the success of the projects and that it is not necessary for a project to be efficient to be considered successful. - Downloads
