The research sought to determine if there is an influence between management competencies and management by results in the institutional image of the Local Educational Management Unit 02 in Lima Peru, a study that was conducted between September 2017 and May 2018; research oriented in the positivist paradigm of quantitative approach and causal correlational design. It is concluded that if there is influence of the managerial competencies variables and management by results in the institutional image, for what is suggested, the teaching staff will be considered as active subjects of the institution’s institutional image.
