Abstract

The present descriptive case report is based on the quantitative-qualitative methodology systematized through the methods: in-depth interview, documentary analysis, direct observation and statistics. Its main result is the determination of the causes of the insufficiencies in the knowledge management; being the limited preparation and technological training of the subject types selected
in the Technical University of Machala (UTMach) the primordial reason; coinciding with the investigative inquiries of Barrios (2011), Villagómez (2011) and Beteta (2012), among others. The triangulation of the data guaranteed the internal validity of the study in its context.
