- Abstract
-
The aim of this research was to detect suicidal risk in adolescents, through the early identification of warning signs as a method of prevention, among 20 adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, selected by high score on the Paykel Suicide Scale, semi-structured interviews were applied to obtain information on the prevalence of warning signs of suicidal risk such as social isolation, mood, sleep and eating disorders; triggering factors and constructs that form the personality of the adolescent. It was found that all adolescents emit some type of warning signal verbally or behaviorally. Finally, there is a lack of understanding and attention to the warning signs of suicide risk in both the family and school environments, as well as a lack of information and clear guidelines to address the issue, highlighting the need to promote suicide support and prevention strategies.
