Abstract

The research developed establishes a model for the evaluation of learning by competences at the Domingo Savio Private University - Headquarters Sucre, for which a descriptive, documentary and field type study was carried out, supported by research methods at the theoretical, empirical and statistical levels, respectively. , by means of the application of a questionnaire to teachers and students with the purpose of characterizing the current situation of the evaluation in the university and contrasting this with the documentary analysis carried out on the evaluation in the university context. The results obtained revealed a marked tendency
toward traditional evaluation, a situation that contrasts with the current trends of evaluation innovation from the competency approach. This contradiction is overcome in the investigation based on a proposal of evaluation model by competences, validated
by the expert’s criterion, which allows to make a true and authentic assessment of the competences developed by the students, in the cognitive, affective and social.
