Academic stress during adolescence has significant implications for psychological well-being and educational outcomes, underscoring the importance of using psychometrically robust measurement instruments. This instrumental study examined the psychometric properties of the SISCO Academic Stress Inventory in a sample of 977 female students aged between 11 and 17 years. Internal consistency was estimated using Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to examine the fit of the original theoretical model and an alternative four-factor structure..The results demonstrated high internal consistency for the total scale (alfa= .92; w= .92). Confirmatory factor analysis supported the original model, showing excellent fit indices (x²/df = 2.54; CFI = .99; TLI = .99). Likewise, an alternative four-factor model exhibited equally strong fit (CFI = .99; TLI = .99),
indicating the robustness of the latent structure across different model specifications. These findings provide solid evidence of the structural validity and reliability of the SISCO Inventory, supporting its use as a reliable tool for assessing academic stress in
female adolescent populations and contributing to rigorous measurement practices in educational and psychological research. - Downloads
